Over 30 years of excellence. A Gallery Fine Art & Custom Framing
Amy Adams
Amy Adams received a BFA from Auburn University and an MFA from the University of Colorado at
Boulder. She has been the recipient of several artists grants and awards. Since an early age, Amy has
been intrigued with how inanimate objects function and fit together. Profoundly influenced by the
ritualistic voodoo tradition of “helper dolls,” she creates powerfully daunting and deeply intriguing
female figures which seem to posses and cryptically convey the enigmatic story of their own creation
and existence. Amy’s figures are assemblages of various and disparate found objects of and
abandoned or discarded materials including old textiles, rusty bailing wire, bones, weathered
sticks, enameled tin, glass or metal beads, and plastic flowers.
